Who needs graphic designers anyway?
Can’t I just design it in Word or Paint?
Of course you can! But it will look rubbish.
Image is everything these days. And so it should be. Gone are the days when one or two companies offered the same service or product. Now there’s a lot of competition. I mean, have you seen how many graphic designers and website companies there are out there? There’s loads. I have my work cut out getting new work in, because there is so much competition.
Now, when I used to manage a studio, back in my MKH days, I had to recruit a Mac operator. So I designed a recruitment advert and got stacks of CVs in. Probably forty or so. First thing I did was bin the ones with spelling mistakes. Who needs a Mac operator who can’t use a spellcheck? That got rid of half.
Then I looked at the design. A CV needs to be neat and concise, but for a job in a graphics background I’m looking for a bit more style. That got me down to ten.
I interviewed four candidates in the end, some just didn’t have the correct strengths I was after.
In this day and age, companies are exposed everwhere. Websites, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. Not to mention flyers, brochures and on vehicles.
And because there are so many companies after the same business, the better branded ones stand out. It really is worth spending a bit of time and money making your company the one that looks the best.
That’s where I come in. I can make your company look great.
What can I do?
Well, what do you need?
I’ve been about a while, and worked in the design industry since I was sixteen. My expertise is quite extensive. I realise that a website or brochure for your business is just one step in your marketing plan, and often what I design for your website or brochure needs extending to other facets of your business. I can also help you with this. I can design pretty much anything. Just ask.
